Thank you for the kind words and it's terrific to hear that both you and your wife fully enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your feedback and we look forward to seeing you again soon on your next vacation to Vegas! This hotel is not your fancy Vegas hotel but it has a Vegas Casino touch to it. The room was clean, the bathroom was a bit small but I didn't mind and the bed was comfortable. The closet had hangers and an iron. No microwave or mini fridge. They have a gym, wifi and supplied fresh towels and cleaned the room daily.

They have a do not disturb sign that you can use so the cleaning crew won't disturb you if your catching up on sleep or relaxing before venturing out again to enjoy the Vegas sights. My check in and check out were a breeze. The staff were very friendly and professional and even printed my boarding pass for me with no additional charge. I also had scheduled a helicopter ride and pick up was at the Golden Nugget which is 3 minutes away from Golden Gate and Casino so that worked out as well.

The hotel has a diner called Dupars and the food is great. Hands down the pancakes which are the size of the plate are goooooodddd! The Dupars staff are nice and will make sure your needs are met while eating there and its not expensive. There also close to the other downtown hotels as well, so you have other casinos and places to eat. The hotel is not far from the bus stops so I bought a 24 hour pass and took the bus to the Strip.

I will say this there is a lot of noise but mainly in the night hours but usually around late 3ish it's not so bad. It didn't bother me either way because the noise is part of the Fremont Experience.

With that being said I would stay there again. Thank you for your feedback and it's fantastic to hear that you enjoyed your stay from start to finish.

The Golden Gate is a great place to stay when visiting Las Vegas! It is close enough to Fremont Street that you can walk to all of Downtown's attractions, but it is far enough from the main drag that noise is not as much of a problem is it is at other hotels.

This is the oldest hotel in Vegas! As a result, the rooms aren't massive, but you have plenty of space for all you need. The rooms have a vintage charm to them. The price was great, too. You get great value here. The casino is somewhat small, but it has all the essentials. I would recommend getting out of the hotel for food, but downtown has a lot of great restaurants so this isn't a bad thing.

I've stayed at a few different hotels in Downtown Las Vegas, and this one is definitely the best! Thank you for sharing feedback from your recent visit. We are pleased to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay and we look forward to having you back on your next trip to Vegas! A lot of these issues have already been mentioned but I want to add my voice. This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a negative review.

I feel I am a pretty tolerable person. Room is small and old which is expected since the building is so old. The issues are the sounds and smells.

As my wife and I approached the our room it sounded as if a rock concert was going on inside the room. I nervously opened the door of the room, certain someone was already inside partying. It was just the street noise. After two the volume is turned down but the music remains.

Secondly our entire room smelled like marijuana. I assumed this was just our neighbors but other people have complained of the same thing as well so not sure what causes the smell. The last thing is the bed seems to be from the same era as the building.

If you are over the height of 5 foot your feet are going to hang off the bed. I am also still trying to work out an issue of two rooms being booked and charged to my card. Thank you for sharing feedback from your recent stay. It's unfortunate to hear that you did not enjoy your recent stay.

If the noise level from Fremont is too loud for some guests, we are always happy to relocate them to the other side of the property, per availability. We will be using your comments to improve on the guest experience.

That freaked me out when the airport shuttle took us on the E way "terrible traffic" too. Fast forwarding to after checking-in. View of a metal wall covering and trash on the ground.

We both decided to check out of there the next day. When we got on the strip my husband decided to check other hotels in the area to check into for the duration of our trip.

We finally checked out of GG and checked into Bally's on the strip. I didn't want to leave. We are planning to visit Vegas again in the summer but we will be on the strip next time. This trip served a dual purpose. The other was to find a hotel to replace our old regular haunt Barbary Coast after it had turned all swanky and full of youth. When we lived in Cali we went to LV at least once a year. We were used to smaller confines like BC. So this time we tried the Golden Gate, it was a smaller hotel located within easy walking something I hate to do within a half dozen other casinos.

We reserved a suite which was located on the backside of the building, away from the insanity of the Fremont Street experience. Had about as nice a view that downtown can offer: It was easy in and out of the hotel with parking just across the street. It may have been an even shorter distance than the old BC's roof parking, where you had to come down one elevator, get off at the casino and catch another elevator to your room.

We ate at the Dupar's in the hotel a couple of meals, a little bit pricey but very, very good. I felt like the convenience and the quality was worth the price. Also a wet bar, fridge and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffees AND a couple of complimentary Fiji waters We didn't game much at the Gate because we found better payout machines elsewhere hint: Woo Hoo my favorite!
